Sec. 406. Extension of permit terms

Upon a determination by the Secretary that a change to permit terms established under this Act is warranted, the Secretary is authorized to extend the terms of offshore aquaculture permits as follows: An offshore aquaculture permit term under section 201(e)(1) may be extended to a maximum of an additional 15 years subsequent to a renewal issued under section 201(f). An offshore aquaculture permit term under section 201(e)(2)(A) may be extended to a maximum of an additional 25 years subsequent to a renewal issued under section 201(f).
