Section 2(a) of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act ( 29 U.S.C. 2101 ) is amended— in paragraph (7), by striking and at the end; in paragraph (8), by striking the period and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: the term United States includes each of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau, and each territory or possession of the United States. .
