Sec. 501. Relation to other Federal law

Nothing in this Act shall be construed to— modify, limit, or supersede the operation of any privacy or security provision in— section 552a of title 5, United States Code (commonly known as the Privacy Act of 1974 ); the Right to Financial Privacy Act of 1978 ( 12 U.S.C. 3401 et seq.); the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq.); the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq.); the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 ( 15 U.S.C. 6501 et seq.); title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ( 15 U.S.C. 6801 et seq.); chapter 119, 123, or 206 of title 18, United States Code; section 444 of the General Education Provisions Act ( 20 U.S.C. 1232g ) (commonly referred to as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 ); section 445 of the General Education Provisions Act ( 20 U.S.C. 1232h ); the Privacy Protection Act of 1980 ( 42 U.S.C. 2000aa et seq.); the regulations promulgated under section 264(c) of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ( 42 U.S.C. 1320d–2 note), as those regulations relate to— a person described in section 1172(a) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1320d–1(a) ); or transactions referred to in section 1173(a)(1) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1320d–2(a)(1) ); the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act ( 47 U.S.C. 1001 et seq.); section 222, 227, 338, or 631 of the Communications Act of 1934 ( 47 U.S.C. 222 , 227, 338, or 551); the E-Government Act of 2002 ( 44 U.S.C. 101 et seq.); the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 ( 44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.);
Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 ( 44 U.S.C. 3541 et seq.); the Currency and Foreign Transactions Reporting Act of 1970, as amended (commonly known as the Bank Secrecy Act) ( 12 U.S.C. 1829b and 1951–1959, 31 U.S.C. 5311–5314 and 5316–5332), including the International Money Laundering Abatement and Financial Anti-Terrorism Act of 2001, title III of Public Law 107–56 , as amended; the National Security Act of 1947 ( 50 U.S.C. 3001 et seq.); the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978, as amended ( 50 U.S.C. 1801 et seq.); the Civil Rights Act of 1964 ( Public Law 88–352 , 78 Stat. 241); the Americans with Disabilities Act ( 42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.); the Fair Housing Act ( 42 U.S.C. 3601 et seq.); the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act ( Public Law 111–203 , 124 Stat. 1376–2223); the Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1691 et seq.); the Age Discrimination in Employment Act ( 29 U.S.C. 621 et seq.); the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act ( Public Law 110–233 , 122 Stat. 881); or any other privacy or security provision of Federal law; or limit the authority of the Federal Communications Commission to promulgate regulations and enforce any privacy law not in contradiction with this Act.
