The Homeland Security Act of 2002 ( 6 U.S.C. 271(a) ) is amended by inserting after section 271(a)(1) the following: The mission statement of United States citizenship and immigration services shall read, USCIS secures America’s promise as a Nation that welcomes of immigrants and refugees by providing accurate and useful information to our customers, granting humanitarian, immigration and citizenship benefits, promoting an awareness and understanding of citizenship, and ensuring the integrity of our immigration system. . .
