The purposes of the Foundation are— to spur innovation in the promotion and expansion of citizenship preparation programs for lawful permanent residents; to evaluate and identify best practices in citizenship promotion and preparation and to make recommendations to the Department and the National Office for New Americans about how to bring such best practices to scale; to support direct assistance for noncitizens seeking lawful permanent resident status, or naturalization as a United States citizen; and to coordinate immigrant integration with State and local entities.
