Section 1473H(b)(2) of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 ( 7 U.S.C. 3319k(b)(2) ) is amended— in subparagraph (C), by striking and at the end; by redesignating subparagraph
(D)as subparagraph (E); and by inserting after subparagraph
(C)the following: to enhance the role of agriculture in innovative voluntary resilience solutions in the United States through the development of agricultural technologies that address— the impact of extreme weather on crop production; the expansion of the potential for long-term carbon storage through agriculture; increased economic and practical feasibility for renewable and sustainable energy on farms and in the agriculture industry; and increased adoption of voluntary conservation practices that sequester carbon and build on-farm climate resilience; and .
