In making grants under the heading “Federal Emergency Management Agency—Federal Assistance”, for Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grants, the Secretary may grant waivers from the requirements in subsections (a)(1)(A), (a)(1)(B), (a)(1)(E), (c)(1), (c)(2), and (c)(4) of section 34 of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 ( 15 U.S.C. 2229a ). For grants made under the heading “Federal Emergency Management Agency—Firefighter Assistance Grants” in division F of Public Law 114–113 , the Secretary may extend the period of performance described in subsection (a)(1)(B) of such section 34 for up to one additional year.
For purposes of subsection (b)— subsections (a)(1)(E)(iii) and (c)(4)(C) of such section 34 shall also apply to such additional year of such period of performance; and the authority provided shall only apply to any such grant award that remains open on the date of enactment of this Act.
