Sec. 2715. Report on surveillance by foreign governments against United States telecommunications networks

In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means the following: The congressional intelligence committees. The Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate. The Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives. Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence shall, in coordination with the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, the Director of the National Security Agency, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report describing— any attempts known to the intelligence community by foreign governments to exploit cybersecurity vulnerabilities in United States telecommunications networks (including Signaling System No. 7) to target for surveillance United States persons, including employees of the Federal Government; and any actions, as of the date of the enactment of this Act, taken by the intelligence community to protect agencies and personnel of the United States Government from surveillance conducted by foreign governments.
