Section 70105(g) of title 46, United States Code, is amended by striking shall concurrently and all that follows and inserting the following: shall— develop and, no later than 1 year after the date of enactment of the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2019, implement a joint application for merchant mariner’s documents under chapter 73 of title 46, United States Code, and for a transportation security card issued under this section; and upon receipt of a joint application developed under paragraph
(1)concurrently process an application from an individual for merchant mariner’s documents under chapter 73 of title 46, United States Code, and an application from such individual for a transportation security card under this section. .
