Section 9503 of title 5, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (a)— in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking “Before” and inserting “before”; and in paragraph (5), by inserting before the semicolon the following: “, but are renewable for an additional two years based on critical organization need”; and by adding at the end the following new subsection: The Secretary may exercise the authority provided by subsection
(a)with respect to positions for IT specialists through September 30, 2023. .
