Sec. 1253. Protection of European Deterrence Initiative funds from diversion for other purposes

Not later than 15 days after any obligation of funds in an amount of $10,000,000 or more for the European Deterrence Initiative for fiscal year 2020 and each fiscal year thereafter, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on that obligation of such funds for that fiscal year. Each report under paragraph
(1)shall specify— the activities and forms of assistance for which the Secretary obligated such funds; and the amount of the obligation. Not later than November 30, 2020, and annually thereafter, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report that contains— a detailed summary of funds obligated for the European Deterrence Initiative for the preceding fiscal year; and a detailed comparison of funds obligated for the European Deterrence Initiative for the preceding fiscal year to amounts requested for the Initiative for that fiscal year in the materials submitted to Congress by the Secretary in support of the budget of the President for that fiscal year as required by section 1252(b) , including with respect to each of the accounts described in paragraphs (1), (2), (3), (4), and
(5)of section 1252(b) and the information required under each such paragraph.
