Section 20157 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: Not later than April 16 of each calendar year following the date of an implementation deadline under subsection (a)(1), each railroad shall submit to the Secretary a report containing the number of positive train control system failures, separated by each major hardware category, that occurred during the previous calendar year. .
