Sec. 1635. Study on colonias

The Secretary of Transportation shall carry out a study on the infrastructure state of colonias, including surface, transit, water, and broadband infrastructure of such colonias. Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate a report describing the results of the study under subsection (a), including any recommendations for congressional action on colonias.
In this section, the term colonias has the meaning given the term in section 509(f)(8) of the Housing Act of 1949 ( 42 U.S.C. 1479(f)(8) ).
