Sec. 83211. National wildlife corridors

There is established a system of corridors on Federal land and water, to be known as the National Wildlife Corridor System , which shall consist of National Wildlife Corridors designated as part of the National Wildlife Corridor System by— statute; rulemaking under section 83212; or a land management plan developed or revised under section 202 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 ( 43 U.S.C. 1712 ). Not later than 18 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall develop a strategy for the effective development of the National Wildlife Corridor System— to support the fulfillment of the purposes described in section 83212(b); to ensure coordination and consistency across Federal agencies in the development, implementation, and management of National Wildlife Corridors; and to develop a timeline for the implementation of National Wildlife Corridors.
