Section 1834(m) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395m(m) ) is amended— in paragraph (1), by striking described in section 1842(b)(18)(C) and inserting as defined in paragraph (4)(E) ; in paragraph (3)(B), by inserting described in subparagraph
(C)of such section after practitioners ; and in paragraph (4), by amending subparagraph
(E)to read as follows: The term practitioner means a practitioner described in section 1842(b)(18)(C) and includes, with respect to services furnished before January 1, 2024, any supplier (other than a physician) permitted to receive payment for a telehealth service under this section as of the date of the enactment of this subparagraph pursuant to a waiver in effect as of such date under section 1135. .
