Section 102 of the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act ( 52 U.S.C. 20302 ) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: For the purposes of voting for in any election for any Federal office or any State or local office, a spouse or dependent of an individual who is an absent uniformed services voter described in subparagraph
(A)or
(B)of section 107(1) shall not, solely by reason of that individual’s absence and without regard to whether or not such spouse or dependent is accompanying that individual— be deemed to have lost a residence or domicile in that State, without regard to whether or not that individual intends to return to that State; be deemed to have acquired a residence or domicile in any other State; or be deemed to have become a resident in or a resident of any other State. .
