Section 8(a)(1) of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 ( 52 U.S.C. 20507(a)(1) ) is amended by striking 30 days each place it appears and inserting 28 days . The amendment made by subsection
(a)shall apply with respect to elections held in 2020 or any succeeding year.
