Sec. 8038. Reports on Cost of Senior Executive Travel

Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and every 90 days thereafter, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives a report detailing the direct and indirect costs to the Department of Defense in support of travel by senior executive officials on military aircraft. Each such report shall include whether spousal travel furnished by the Department was reimbursed to the Federal Government. Required use travel, as outlined in Department of Defense Directive 4500.56, shall not be included in reports under subsection
(a)In this section, the term senior executive official has the meaning given the term senior Federal official in section 101–37.100 of title 41, Code of Federal Regulations, as in effect on the date of enactment of this Act, and includes any senior executive branch official (as that term is defined in such section).
