Sec. 9. Review of the explosives detection canine team program

Not later than 90 days after the date that the Inspector General of the Department receives the report under section 3(c), the Inspector General of the Department shall— review the explosives detection canine team program, including— the development by the Transportation Security Administration of a deployment strategy for explosives detection canine teams; the national explosives detection canine team training program, including canine training, handler training, refresher training, and updates to such training; and the use of the canine assets during an urgent security need, including the reallocation of such program resources outside the transportation systems sector during an urgent security need; and submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report on the review, including any recommendations.
In conducting the review of the deployment strategy under subsection (a)(1)(A), the Inspector General shall consider whether the Transportation Security Administration's method to analyze the risk to transportation facilities and transportation systems is appropriate.
