Section 1012(a)(5)(A) of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 ( 33 U.S.C. 2712(a)(5)(A) ) is amended— by striking $25,000,000 and inserting $50,000,000 ; and by striking the semicolon at the end and inserting , of which amount not less than 40 percent shall be used to conduct research, development, and evaluation of oil spill response and removal technologies and methods; .
