Section 301 of the United States-Hong Kong Policy Act of 1992 ( 22 U.S.C. 5731 ) is amended— by striking Not later than and all that follows through the Secretary of State and inserting Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2017 and annually thereafter through 2023, ; by striking Speaker of the House of Representatives and inserting chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives ; in paragraph (7), by striking ; and and inserting a semicolon; in paragraph (8), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following new paragraph: matters in which Hong Kong is given separate treatment under the laws of the United States from that accorded to the People’s Republic of China and in accordance with this Act. .
The report required under section 301 of the United States-Hong Kong Policy Act of 1992 ( 22 U.S.C. 5731 ), as amended by subsection (a), should be unclassified and made publicly available, including through the Department of State's public website.
