In this Act: The term CITES has the meaning given the term in section 3 of the Marine Turtle Conservation Act of 2004 ( 16 U.S.C. 6602 ). The terms focus country and wildlife trafficking have the meanings given those terms in section 2 of the Eliminate, Neutralize, and Disrupt Wildlife Trafficking Act of 2016 ( 16 U.S.C. 7601 ). The term shark means any species of the orders Hexanchiformes, Pristiophoriformes, Squaliformes, Squatiniformes, Heterodontiformes, Orectolobiformes, Lamniformes, and Carchariniformes.
The terms species and take have the meanings given those terms in section 3 of the Endangered Species Act of 1973 ( 16 U.S.C. 1532 ). The term wildlife has the meaning given the term fish or wildlife in section 3 of the Endangered Species Act of 1973 ( 16 U.S.C. 1532 ).
