In this Act: The term CITES has the meaning given the term in section 3 of the Marine Turtle Conservation Act of 2004 ( 16 U.S.C. 6602 ). The terms focus country and wildlife trafficking have the meanings given those terms in section 2 of the Eliminate, Neutralize, and Disrupt Wildlife Trafficking Act of 2016 ( 16 U.S.C. 7601 ). The term shark means any species of the orders Hexanchiformes, Pris­ti­o­phor­i­formes, Squaliformes, Squatiniformes, He­ter­o­don­ti­formes, Orectolobiformes, Lamniformes, and Car­char­in­i­formes.
The terms species and take have the meanings given those terms in section 3 of the Endangered Species Act of 1973 ( 16 U.S.C. 1532 ). The term wildlife has the meaning given the term fish or wildlife in section 3 of the Endangered Species Act of 1973 ( 16 U.S.C. 1532 ).
