The President is authorized to impose sanctions, in accordance with applicable law, including financial penalties and visa bans, on any individual or entity that— violates human rights or religious freedoms; or engages in censorship activities. The President is authorized, in accordance with applicable law, to terminate, suspend, or otherwise alter United States economic assistance to any country that has engaged in serious violations of human rights or religious freedoms.
