Title XXVII of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.C. 300gg et seq.) is amended by inserting after section 2728 ( 42 U.S.C. 300gg–28 ) the following: Beginning January 1, 2019, a group health plan or health insurance issuer offering group or individual health insurance coverage shall inform individuals enrolled in such plan or coverage, who are described in subsection (b), of the termination of any provider as an in-network provider under the plan or coverage. Such notice shall be provided not later than 30 days prior to the termination. The individuals described in this subsection are any patients who have seen a provider described in subsection
(a)on a regular basis or who have received primary care from the provider. .
