In this Act: The term chief State election official means the chief State election official of a State designated under section 10 of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 ( 52 U.S.C. 20509 ). The term critical infrastructure has the meaning given the term in section 1016 of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act of 2001 ( 42 U.S.C. 5195c(e) ). The term Department means the Department of Homeland Security. The term Secretary means the Secretary of Homeland Security.
S pecific agency The term sector-specific agency has the meaning given that term in Presidential Policy Directive–21, issued February 12, 2013 (relating to critical infrastructure security and resilience), or any successor thereto. The term State means each of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the territories and possessions of the United States. The term voting system has the meaning given the term in section 301(b) of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 ( 52 U.S.C. 21081(b) ).
