Chapter I of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 ( 42 U.S.C. 4011 et seq.), as amended by section 103, is amended by adding at the end the following: Surveyed elevation data and other information relating to a building that is recorded on a National Flood Insurance Program Elevation Certificate by an individual licensed to record that information shall continue to be in effect, and the Elevation Certificate shall not expire, until the date on which there is an alteration in the building or to the topography surrounding the perimeter of the building.
With respect to a National Flood Insurance Program Elevation Certificate for a building, if the elevation datum used to determine the base flood elevation at the building is different than the elevation datum used to calculate the building elevation, a datum conversion shall be performed to ensure that the same elevation datum is used to calculate the base flood elevation and the building elevation. .
