U visa protection eligible for foster care and refugee benefits Section 107(b)(1)(A) of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000 ( 22 U.S.C. 7105(b)(1)(A) ) is amended by inserting , an alien who has been granted special immigrant status under section 101(a)(27)(J) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( after 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(27)(J) ), a child who has been granted status under section 101(a)(15)(U) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15(U)), trafficking in persons, .
Subject to the availability of funds appropriated for this purpose, if State foster care funds are expended on behalf of a child who has been granted special immigrant status under section 101(a)(27)(J) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(27)(J) ), the Federal Government shall reimburse the State in which the child resides for such expenditures by the State.
