The Secretary of Agriculture, acting through the Chief of the Forest Service, may establish, in cooperation with any other public or private entities that the Secretary may determine to be appropriate, a visitor center in Weaverville, California— to serve visitors; and to assist in fulfilling the purposes of the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area. The Secretary shall ensure that the visitor center authorized under subsection
(a)is designed to interpret the scenic, biological, natural, historical, scientific, paleontological, recreational, ecological, wilderness, and cultural resources of the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area and other nearby Federal lands. The Secretary of Agriculture may, in a manner consistent with this Act, enter into cooperative agreements with the State and any other appropriate institutions and organizations to carry out the purposes of this section.
