Sec. 504. Annual report on security violations

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act and annually thereafter for five years, the Secretary shall submit to the relevant congressional committees a report, in classified or unclassified format as the Secretary determines appropriate, that includes information on the security violations issued to Department employees during the most recently completed fiscal year, including the unauthorized transfer of marked or unmarked classified information into documents, electronic media or systems, electronic transmissions, or other records or storage not certified for the handling, storage, or transmittal of such information.
The reporting of security violations submitted under subsection
(a)shall include— the total number of security violations issued to Department employees during the current reporting period, including the number of security violations that occurred within each office or bureau of the Department; the number of security violations committed by an employee with a history of one or more prior security violations; and the number and nature of actions taken by the Department in response to security violations, including— disciplinary actions taken or criminal referrals; and the administration of remedial training in response to any security violation or violations.
