Sec. 811. Amendment to and repeal of statutory requirements for certain positions or offices in the Department of Defense

Section 2228 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— by amending subsection

(a)to read as follows: There is established an Office of Corrosion Policy and Oversight within the Department of Defense, which shall be headed by a Director of Corrosion Policy and Oversight. ; by striking subsections

(b)and (c); by redesignating subsections (d), (e), and

(f)as subsections (b), (c), and (d), respectively; and in subsection

(c)(as so resdesignated), by striking subsection

(d)each place it appears and inserting subsection

(b). Section 1067 of the Bob Stump National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2003 ( Public Law 107–314 ; 116 Stat. 2658, 2659; 10 U.S.C. 2228 note) is amended by striking subsections (b), (c), (d), and (e). Section 2438 of title 10, United States Code, is repealed. The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 144 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 2438. Section 131(b)(9) of such title is amended by striking subparagraph (I). Section 2548(a) of such title is amended by striking , the Director of Procurement and Acquisition Policy, and the Director of the Office of Performance Assessment and Root Cause Analysis, and inserting and the Director of Procurement and Acquisition Policy . Section 882 of the Ike Skelton National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2011 ( Public Law 111–383 ; 10 U.S.C. 2222 note) is amended by striking subsection (a). Section 2515 of title 10, United States Code, is repealed. The table of sections at the beginning of subchapter III of chapter 148 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 2515. Section 2517 of title 10, United States Code, is repealed. The table of sections at the beginning of subchapter III of chapter 148 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 2517. Section 204 of title 10, United States Code, is repealed. The table of sections at the beginning of subchapter II of chapter 8 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 204. Section 2318 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— by striking subsection (a); and by striking

(b)before Each advocate . Such section is further amended— by striking advocate for competition of and inserting advocate for competition designated pursuant to section 1705(a) of title 41 for ; and by striking a grade GS–16 or above under the General Schedule (or in a comparable or higher position under another schedule) and inserting in a position classified above GS–15 pursuant to section 5108 of title 5 . Section 219 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 ( Public Law 114–328 ; 10 U.S.C. 2431 note) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: The provisions of subsection

(a)and of paragraphs

(2)and

(3)of subsection

(b)shall cease to be in effect as of September 30, 2022. . Section 1006 of the National Defense Authorization Act, Fiscal Year 1989 ( Public Law 100–456 ; 102 Stat. 2040; 10 U.S.C. 133a note) is repealed. Section 231 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 ( Public Law 110–181 ; 122 Stat. 45; 10 U.S.C. 1701 note) is amended— by striking

(a); and In general.— by striking subsections (b), (c), and (d). Section 902 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013 ( Public Law 112–239 ; 126 Stat. 1865; 10 U.S.C. 2302 note) is repealed. Section 203 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1998 ( Public Law 105–85 ; 10 U.S.C. 2511 note) is amended by striking subsection (c). Section 256 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009 ( Public Law 110–417 ; 122 Stat. 4404; 10 U.S.C. 2501 note) is repealed.
