Sec. 2832. Designation of potential wilderness area

Certain land administered by the National Park Service, comprising approximately 1 acre as generally depicted on the map entitled Proposed Potential Wilderness, Mormon Peak Microwave Facility, Death Valley National Park , numbered 143–142, 834, and dated March 1, 2018, is designated as a potential wilderness area. The Secretary of the Interior may permit on the land described in subsection
(a)only the uses that were permitted on such land on the date of enactment of the California Desert Protection Act of 1994 ( Public Law 103–433 ). The Secretary of the Interior shall publish a notice in the Federal Register when the Secretary determines that— the communications site within the potential wilderness area designated under subsection
(a)is no longer used; the associated right-of-way is relinquished or not renewed; and the conditions in the potential wilderness area designated by subsection
(a)are compatible with the Wilderness Act ( 16 U.S.C. 1131 et seq.). Upon publication by the Secretary of the notice described in paragraph (1), the land described in subsection
(a)is— designated as wilderness and as a component of the National Wilderness Preservation System; and incorporated into the Death Valley National Park Wilderness designated by section 601of Public Law 103–433 .
