Sec. 6605. Report on development of long-range stand-off weapon

Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and every 180 days thereafter until December 31, 2024, the Secretary of the Air Force shall, in coordination with the Administrator for Nuclear Security, submit to the congressional defense committees a report describing the joint development of the long-range stand-off weapon, including the missile developed by the Air Force and the W80–4 warhead life extension program conducted by the National Nuclear Security Administration. The report required by subsection
(a)shall include the following: An estimate of the date on which the long-range stand-off weapon will reach initial operating capability. A description of any development milestones for the missile developed by the Air Force or the warhead developed by the National Nuclear Security Administration that depend on corresponding progress at the other agency. A description of coordination efforts between the Air Force and the National Nuclear Security Administration during the 180 days preceding submission of the report. A description of any schedule delays projected by the Air Force or the National Nuclear Security Administration and the anticipated effect such delays would have on the other agency’s schedule of work. Plans to mitigate the effects of any delays described in paragraph (4). A description of any ways, including through the availability of additional funding or authorities, in which the development milestones described in paragraph
(2)or the estimated date of initial operating capability referred to in paragraph (1), could be achieved more quickly. The report required by subsection
(a)shall be submitted in unclassified form but may include a classified annex.
