Not later than March 1, 2019, the Secretary of the Air Force shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on options to provide the United States Central Command with persistent weather imagery for the area of operations of the Command beginning not later than January 1, 2026. The report under subsection
(a)shall include the following: A description of long-term options for providing the United States Central Command with persistent weather imagery for the area of operations of the Command that— do not rely on data provided by a foreign government; and do not include relocating legacy geostationary operational environmental satellites. A description of the costs required to carry out each option included in the report.
