Chapter 602 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section: Any naval officer who is commissioned as a surface warfare officer on or after January 1, 2021, shall be assigned to one of the following career paths: Ship engineering systems. Ship operations and combat systems. . The table of sections at the beginning of such chapter is amended by adding at the end the following new item: 6933. Surface warfare officers: career paths. .
