The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 ( Public Law 109–282 ; 31 U.S.C. 6101 note) is amended by adding at the end the following new section: Each Inspector General shall annually audit for the previous fiscal year the data used on the website established under section 2 for the relevant Federal agency of the Inspector General, in compliance with generally accepted Government auditing standards, and submit a report on such audit to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget that includes at least the following:
A review of data used for the website to verify accuracy of the data and assess the process used for improving data quality. A review of a statistically representative sample of Federal awards to determine whether the Federal agency of the Inspector General has appropriate measures in place to review data submissions under this Act for accuracy and completeness. An identification of and report on new standards that the Inspector General recommends for implementation by the Federal agency of the Inspector General to improve data quality.
Not later than April 1 of each year, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget shall make each report submitted under subsection
(a)for the previous fiscal year available to the public, including a review of the findings of the audit and recommendations to improve data quality, through the website established under section 2. .
