In this title, the following definitions apply: The term FAA means the Federal Aviation Administration. The term Safety Oversight and Certification Advisory Committee means the Safety Oversight and Certification Advisory Committee established under section 202. The term systems safety approach means the application of specialized technical and managerial skills to the systematic, forward-looking identification and control of hazards throughout the lifecycle of a project, program, or activity.
