The Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture shall prioritize coordination and cooperation with the appropriate State fish and wildlife agencies to recognize and fully utilize State fish and wildlife data and analyses, unless such data or analyses are proprietary or protected from disclosure under State law, as a primary source to inform— land and resource management plans for units of the National Forest System developed under section 6 of the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act of 1974 ( 16 U.S.C. 1604 ); land use plans developed under section 202 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 ( 43 U.S.C. 1712 ); comprehensive conservation plans developed under section 4 of the National Wildlife Refuge System Administration Act of 1966 ( 16 U.S.C. 668dd ); project planning and execution; and related natural resource policies and decisions.
Federal agencies shall evaluate and utilize existing analysis of data on fish and wildlife populations prepared by the appropriate State and share Federal data with State fish and wildlife managers.
