The Director of the United States Geological Survey shall— include estimates of the consumptive use of surface water, groundwater, and recycled water in its published survey on water uses in the United States; and make this data available as an input to the Department of Energy’s National Energy-Water Nexus Data System. The Director shall enter into cooperative agreements with States to carry out this section. To carry out this section there is authorized to be appropriated $10,000,000 for each fiscal year in the 5-fiscal-year period beginning with fiscal year 2018.
