In this title, the following definitions apply: The term Administrator means the Administrator of the FAA. The term Advisory Committee means the Safety Oversight and Certification Advisory Committee established under section 202. The term FAA means the Federal Aviation Administration. The term Secretary means the Secretary of Transportation. The term systems safety approach means the application of specialized technical and managerial skills to the systematic, forward-looking identification and control of hazards throughout the lifecycle of a project, program, or activity.
