Section 44935 is amended— by striking
(i)and inserting Accessibility of computer-based training facilities .—
(k); and Accessibility of computer-based training facilities .— by adding at the end the following: The Administrator shall establish a training program for new security screening personnel located at the Transportation Security Administration Academy. Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of the TSA Modernization Act , the Administrator shall establish recurring training for security screening personnel regarding updates to screening procedures and technologies, including, in response to weaknesses identified in covert tests at airports— methods to identify the verification of false or fraudulent travel documents; and training on emerging threats. The training under subparagraph
(A)shall include— internal controls for monitoring and documenting compliance of transportation security officers with such training requirements; and such other matters as identified by the Administrator with regard to such training. . Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall— examine the effectiveness of the new security screening personnel training under section 44935(l) of title 49, United States Code; and submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report on the findings under paragraph (1), including any recommendations.
