The Secretary of Homeland Security shall— inform public and private sector stakeholders regarding the availability of Department of Homeland Security technical assistance, including vulnerability assessment tools, to help enhance the security in public areas of transportation facilities; and subject to availability of appropriations, provide such technical assistance, upon request, to such a stakeholder. Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall publish and widely disseminate best practices for protecting and enhancing the resilience of public areas of transportation facilities, including associated frameworks or templates for implementation.
As appropriate, such best practices shall be updated periodically.
