Sec. 1292. Notice of changes to the legal and policy frameworks guiding the United States’ use of military force and related national security operations

Not later than 30 days after the date on which a change is made to any of the legal or policy frameworks described in the report entitled Report on the Legal and Policy Frameworks Guiding the United States Use of Military Force and Related National Security Operations prepared by the national security departments and agencies and published on December 5, 2016, the President shall notify the appropriate congressional committees of such change, including the legal, factual, and policy justification for such change.
In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Armed Services of the Senate and the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives; the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives; the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives; and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives.
