Sec. 1103. Permanent authority for demonstration projects relating to acquisition personnel management policies and procedures

Section 1762 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking subsections
(g)and (h). Subsection
(a)of such section is amended by striking and all that follows through Commencement .— a demonstration project and inserting . In general .—The Secretary of Defense may carry out demonstration projects Subsection
(c)of such section is amended by striking the demonstration project under this section may not exceed 120,000 and inserting at any one time in demonstration projects under this section may not exceed 130,000 . Subsection
(e)of such section is amended— by striking paragraph
(1)and inserting the following new paragraph: Upon the completion of a demonstration project under this section, the Secretary of Defense shall provide for the conduct of an assessment of the demonstration project by an appropriate independent organization designated by the Secretary for that purpose. The Secretary shall submit to the covered congressional committees a report on each assessment conducted pursuant to this paragraph. ; and by striking paragraph (3).
