The Secretary shall collect and report data and analysis on farmland ownership, tenure, transition, and entry of beginning farmers or ranchers. In carrying out subsection (a), the Secretary shall— collect and distribute comprehensive annual reporting of trends in farmland ownership, tenure, transition, barriers to entry, profitability, and viability of beginning farmers or ranchers; and develop surveys and report statistical and economic analysis on farmland ownership, tenure, transition, barriers to entry, profitability, and viability of beginning farmers or ranchers.
There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $2,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2019 through 2023, to remain available until expended. Section 1770(d) of the Food Security Act of 1985 ( 7 U.S.C. 2276(d) ) is amended— in paragraph (11), by striking or at the end; in paragraph (12), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; or ; and by adding at the end the following new paragraph: section 7604 of the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 . .
