Sec. 4205. Review and revision of certain nutrition regulations

Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act and for the purposes described in subsection (b), the Secretary shall review— the final regulations on National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program: Nutrition Standards for All Foods Sold in School as Required by the Healthy, Hunger- Free Kids Act of 2010 published by the Department of Agriculture in the Federal Register on July 29, 2016 (81 Fed. Reg. 50123 et seq.); and the final regulations on Nutrition Standards in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs published by the Department of Agriculture in the Federal Register on January 26, 2012 (77 Fed. Reg. 4088 et seq.).
Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary, in consultation with school nutrition personnel and school leaders (including school administrators, school boards, and parents), shall finalize new regulations that revise the regulations described in subsection
(a)based on the review of such regulations under such subsection, including any requirements for milk, to ensure that the requirements of such regulations— are based on research based on school-age children; do not add costs in addition to the reimbursements required to carry out the school lunch program authorized under the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1751 et seq.) or the school breakfast program established by section 4 of the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 ( 42 U.S.C. 1773 ); and maintain healthy meals for students.
