Sec. 4040. Determination of amount of block grant payable to Puerto Rico

With funds appropriated to carry out this subsection, the Secretary of Agriculture shall conduct a study to determine the feasibility and impact of using a thrifty food plan developed exclusively to apply under section 19(a)(2)(A)(ii) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 2028(a)(2)(A) ) to calculate the amount of the block grant payable to Puerto Rico. There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out subsection (a). Only funds appropriated under subsection
(b)in advance specifically to carry out subsection
(a)shall be available to carry out such subsection.
