Section 11(e) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 ( 7 U.S.C. 2020(e) ) is amended— in paragraph (24), by striking and after the semicolon; in paragraph (25), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and by adding at the end the following: that for a household participating in the supplemental nutrition assistance program, the State agency shall pursue clarification and verification, if applicable, of information relating to the circumstances of the household received from data matches for the purpose of ensuring an accurate eligibility and benefit determination, only if the information— appears to present significantly conflicting information from the information that was used by the State agency at the time of certification of the household; is obtained from data matches carried out under subsection (q), (r), or (w); or is fewer than 60 days old relative to the current month of participation of the household; and if accurate, would have been required to be reported by the household based on the reporting requirements assigned to the household by the State agency under section 6(c). .
