Section 1240H of the Food Security Act of 1985 ( 16 U.S.C. 3839aa–8 ) is amended— in subsection (a)(2)— by redesignating subparagraphs
(E)and
(F)as subparagraphs
(F)and (G), respectively; by inserting after subparagraph
(D)the following: partner with farmers to develop innovative conservation practices for urban, indoor, or other emerging agricultural practices to increase— green space; pollinator habitat; stormwater management; carbon sequestration; and access to agricultural production sites through land tenure agreements and other contracts; ; in subparagraph
(F)(as so redesignated), by striking and at the end; in subparagraph
(G)(as so redesignated), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: utilize edge-of-field and other monitoring practices on farms— to quantify the impacts of conservation practices utilized under the program; and to assist producers in making the best conservation investments for their operation. ; and in subsection (b)(2), by striking 2018 and inserting 2023 .
