Not later than the expiration of the 18-month period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall submit to the Congress a report analyzing the effects of global warming on the fiscal solvency of the National Flood Insurance Program. The Comptroller General of the United States shall conduct a study of claims under flood insurance coverage provided through insurance companies participating in the Write Your Own program of the National Flood Insurance Program pursuant to losses resulting from Hurricane Sandy of 2012, which shall determine— how much profit such insurers made pursuant to such claims; how many of such claims were made and processed; and the amount of each such claim that was approved and paid.
Not later than the expiration of the 12-month period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General shall submit a report to the Congress regarding the conclusions of the study conducted pursuant to this subsection.
