Section 502(c)(5) ( 45 U.S.C. 822(c)(5) ) is amended by inserting or after chapter 227 of title 49 section 135 of title 23 . Section 502(h) ( 45 U.S.C. 822(h) ) is amended— in paragraph (2), by inserting , if applicable after project ; and by adding at the end the following: For a project described in subsection (b)(1)(D), the Secretary shall require the applicant to pay, in addition to the interest required under subsection (e), a fee or payment in an amount determined appropriate by the Secretary to provide an equitable share of revenue to support capital or operating costs of routes serving the passenger rail station or multimodal station where the development is located. .
